A Thai marriage visa usually refers to the initial 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa, or one-year extension, granted to foreign spouses of Thai nationals. You’ll see it called several things, marriage visa, spouse visa, Non-O extension, but they all describe the same underlying status. Under Thailand’s Marriage Equality Act, same-sex spouses of Thai nationals qualify for the same Non-Immigrant O visa status as any other married couple.

Thai Spouse Visa Requirements:

You can apply for an initial 90-day Non-O Visa for Thailand from the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in your home country if you are married to a Thai citizen; alternatively.
If you were married outside of Thailand, you must register your marriage to a Thai citizen in any district office in Thailand. This process includes certification by the authority that issued your marriage certificate, certification by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home country, and legalization by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thailand.
You must meet certain financial requirements including maintaining 400,000 THB (this amount may vary by Thai Embassy in your home country) in your bank account for three statement periods (three months) for your initial 90-day visa, and then 400,000 THB in your Thai bank account for at least 60-days before your you go to Immigration and apply for your one year extension.
When you arrive in Thailand with a 90-day Non-O Visa, open your Thai bank account, wire transfer and maintain a balance of at least 400,000 THB for 60 days and then you may apply for a one-year extension through your local immigration office. Present the following supporting documents when you apply:

Thai immigration officers will conduct a home inspection and two local residents must attest to your relationship and residency.
After your visa is issued, you will need to submit 90-day reports confirming your place of residence.
You are required to extend your Non-O Visa every year.
You will need to purchase a re-entry permit to travel outside Thailand which you can and should do when you extend your visa each year.
