Thailand Extending Period of Stay for Visa Exempt Tourists From 30 to 45 Days

What are the details?

Beginning October 1, 2022, Thailand is extending the period of stay for visa exempt tourists from 30 to 45 days.

The extended period of stay will be in effect until March 31, 2023.  Visa exempt visitors may also extend their stay by another 30 days at Bureau of Immigration Offices throughout Thailand.  The extension fee is 1900 THB (about $54.00USD).

What this means:

  1. Starting October 1, visa exempt tourists can enjoy a holiday in the Kingdom for a period of 45-75 days without applying for a tourist visa.

  2. Visa exempt countries include countries in the EU, and the US, Australia, UK, Canada, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, The Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.

  3. Upon entering Thailand you’ll either need proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test administered within 72-hours of travel (there are random compliance checks at the port of entry).

Here’s wishing you a lovely stay in the Kingdom.
