Editor's Note: Since the writing of this article, Thailand's entrance requirements have been eased. For the most up-to-date travel information, visit How to Visit Thailand in 2022.
Starting June 1, 2022 it will be easier for international arrivals to enter the Kingdom. The Thailand Pass system has been streamlined and will only be required for foreign nationals. Thai Nationals will no longer have to apply.
What’s changed?
For fully vaccinated travelers, a Thailand Pass will be automatically issued when the applicant uploads a copy of their passport’s biographical page, their vaccination certificate(s), and an insurance certificate showing a $10,000 policy limit including COVID-19 coverage. Documents will be checked at the airport upon arrival and once they’re through immigration, the visitor is free to travel anywhere in the Kingdom. Unvaccinated travelers are also free to travel in the Kingdom if they obtain a Thailand Pass by uploading the same passport and insurance documents and uploading a negative RT-PCR test result administered within 72 hours of their date of departure.
And more good news for arrivals: restrictions on entertainment and dining venues are being eased or lifted in many parts of the country.
