Mark Friedman: We have some good news on the Thailand visitor and visa fronts. For holiday travelers arriving in Thailand visa exempt, you’ll be able to enjoy a stay in the kingdom for 60 days instead of 30 days. You’ll also have the opportunity to extend your stay for an additional 30 days for 1,900 Thai Baht, meaning that if you’re fortunate enough to have the flexibility, You can stay in Thailand for up to 90 days visa exempt.
The number of visa exempt countries has now expanded from 57 to 93, making it very likely that anyone watching this video will have the opportunity to enjoy an extended stay during their next holiday. Now, if a stay in Thailand for 60 or 90 days is not sufficient, the destination Thailand or DTV visa is now a government authorized program.
I go into details about this five year visa in a prior video, and there’s a link to that in the description below. At bottom, this is a great solution for anyone over the age of 20 who wants to work remotely from Thailand or who wishes to immerse themselves in Thai culture and stay in the kingdom for up to six months at a time.
The visa stamp is good for five years at a cost of about 10,000 Thai baht or 300 US dollars. Given the favorable cost of living you’ll enjoy in Thailand, This is a real bargain.
